In the second edition of his book Wild Urban Plants of the Northeast: A Field Guide, published in 2020, Del Tredici says that he “shifted the focus from urban ecology to climate change.” First published in 2010, the guide organizes 268 wild urban species by botanical family and includes 1,200 detailed photographs with descriptions. ![]() “These plants are the flora of the future,” says Del Tredici. Titled “Urban Nature: Human Nature,” the lecture will focus on plants that have managed to thrive in urban environments despite unfavorable conditions.
