![]() ![]() Dare Wright books are magical, in that she could truly think like a child even as an adult, so that it rang true to me reading it over and over again. This is one of my favorite books from childhood, and I kept careful track of it, not sharing it with my younger siblings, for a reason. Wright at the end of the book for your enjoyment. And for all you fans there's a very sexy glamour shot of Ms. I liked all the cool outfits Wright put Edith in - she's quite a dresser for a little girl. ![]() The book was created in 1972, and there's even a shot of our three buddies on a Hudson River ferry with the World Trade Center in the background. Shot partially on the streets of Manhattan, Lend A Hand is as political as Dare Wright got in her books. Edith and Little Bear get to work literally cleaning up the streets of Manhattan. Bear into telling them that protest isn't enough, activism gets the job done. Their efforts end up on the 6 O'Clock News, provoking Mr. Only problem is Edith and Little Bear love the Big Apple so much they decide to protest urban decay dressed up as hippies in front of City Hall. ![]() Bear decides to move out of the city with his two young charges Edith and Little Bear. ![]() Disgusted with the amount of air pollution, littering and noise pollution ruining New York City, Mr. ![]()
